DAZ Studio 4’s Auto-Fit Tool

I played with DAZ Studio 4's Auto-Fit Tool plug-in this morning. I was able to fit many of my more complex clothing, like uniforms, without issues (there are reports by users that some clothing were not successfully auto-fitted, I can't verify this).

Here's my trial with the Spartana for V4 outfit.

I wasn't expecting much when it came to helmets and capes (external clothing add-ons outside of panties, pants, and shirts).

Here the helmet just fit and, although the cape was a little tricky, I managed to manipulate it outside the curvature of the Genesis figure (the cape will follow the back, legs, etc., as the figure is posed).

The Auto-Fit Tool auto-fits Generation 4 clothing (such as for Victoria V4, Michael V4, Aiko V4, etc.) to the new Genesis figure that comes with DAZ Studio 4.

There seems to be a lot of unhappy DAZ Studio owners complaining about the price of the Auto-Fit Tool, but the way I see it, if you have a lot of Generation 4 clothing you need (most of which are probably not being sold anymore, like the Spartana for V4 uniform I used here, you just can't go wrong with the Auto-Fit Tool.

Of all the clothing I auto-fitted, not one had poke through, this could be because of the new Genesis Mesh, but I am not sure. I do believe it is the case, as this new Genesis Mesh is new technology that seems to have been developed to take care of many of such issues. I hope the poke throughs have been left in the past!

Update: Well, it appears that poke throughs are not going away with the new Genesis figure, but, at least, we have Poke Away! This tool makes it easy to get rid of them! Also, DAZ Studio 4 comes with Smoothing and Collision Detection which solves poke throughs and mesh smoothing! I love it.
