Retain V4/M4 clothing morphs when fitting them on DAZ 3D’s new Genesis figure by converting the clothing item to a weight-mapped figure and then using the Transfer Utility in DAZ Studio 4 Pro to fit the clothing item on Genesis. I understand from several posts on DAZ 3D’s forum that the latest DAZ Studio, version 4.5, has an auto-fit tool that retains the morphs. At this point in time I wouldn’t use version 4.5, as it is at Release Candidate 2 stage and users are still reporting a lot of issues. Update (Sep. 10, 2012): DAZ Studio 4.5 has been out for quite some time now. I...

This is an instructional video I did for some members at the older DAZ 3D forum when DAZ Studio 4 was released to the public. Many of the members were lamenting the fact that the new Auto-Fit Tool for the Genesis figure that comes bundled with DAZ Studio 4 did not include an auto-fit option for shoes; such as high-heels and pumps. The only option at the time was to parent generation 4 shoes to the new Genesis figure and many were not understanding the written instructions given. Please note that I don’t have much of a voice when it comes to a microphone. Also, I am a very private...

“Kameyo Watanabe: The dangerous and beautiful warrior.” This is my attempt at a Final Fantasy character. This is fan art. The Final Fantasy role-playing video game franchises is the copyright of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. For the figure I went with DAZ 3D’s new Genesis mesh. At this time the new Genesis base mesh is only compatible with DAZ Studio 4 and is bundle with it. I chose Genesis to see how easy it would help me get rid of poke through in clothing, especially when layering clothing on top of each other; like the top vest over the fishnet t-shirt I selected for...

“Gloria – Order Of The Wolves.” Inspired by the Game Of Thrones’ full-length portrait promos. The version of this image I used as the main thumbnail is that of Gloria posing with her wolf, even though the wolf looks less than real; or maybe it does look real and is the way dire wolves looked like in the past. Dire wolves had sturdier legs than those of the gray wolf and a larger head with a smaller brain. The model is Wolf by AM. This image was a lot of work, there are a lot of displacements on the suit of armor that I needed to experiment with to get at a somewhat...

I used DAZ 3D’s new genesis figure for this one but used many generation 4 add-ons. Some of these I had to parent to the genesis figure. Such as the hair and cape. Rendered with LuxRender with the help of the Reality for DAZ Studio plug-in. I used the Sun light for the scene. I tried several mesh lights but the lighting looked too artificial. This one started out as a lion chasing the Stallion, but the Lion fur was just not coming out as expected. So I just left the zebra in strutting pose. Share This Post: Bookmark on Delicious Digg this post Recommend on Facebook share via Reddit Share with Stumblers Tumblr it Tweet about it Tell a...

“The Champ. Whose heart beats like a hammer.” I like this one very much, it came about by accident as I was working on a boxing female robot scene, which I haven’t quite finished. “Sensing another person, a ninja gets her cover blown and prepares to meet the threat.” I recently did an artistic nude scene with this Ninja outfit and decided to create a scene for the main stream blog. I think it came out great. This one too was rendered with LuxRender 9. Recently I do my renders for LuxRender. Lighting a scene seems to be a lot easier for me and results are good, despite my limited knowledge. “A Predator jumps out of the shadows at a remote temple after his victim under a lightning storm!” I found this model at ShareCG, Swidhelm’s Hunter, it is based on the Michael V4 Base. The model is very well made. There are issues with the model’s files and with the PZ3 scene file (that is made available separately) with DAZ Studio. So you will have to dig-in and edit the files as I had to do. When I did managed to load the PZ3 scene file in DAZ Studio 4 and then saved the model to a DAZ Studio scene file and loaded it back in, the model would loose his body textures....

I created a night scene consisting of a full moon over a cemetery and a Vampire facing the moon. I created the scene in DAZ Studio 3 Advanced using Light Dome Pro 2 to light the night scene. I use such scenes for selling products with my designs in markets such as Zazzle. I decided to try and get the same scene rendered in LuxRender with the help of the Reality for DAZ Studio plug-in. Reality takes your DAZ Studio scene and creates a LuxRender version so that you can render with LuxRender. LuxRender is an unbiased render engine that is very popular these days, it allows one to easily create...

“The symbol of the citizen soldier, guardian and protector of individual liberty, of family values, and of private property. The symbol of the true libertarian. Guardian of Liberty Statue located at Sentry Forum; a small peninsula overlooking the harbor.” This was inspired by Ron Paul’s run for the presidency of the United States of America and all his supporters, of which I count myself as one of them. This is one of several posts I will make in the coming days that are photo realistic, or close to it. I composed these in DAZ Studio and rendered them with the unbiased...

I put together my depiction of Perseus for my final scene, where I show him during the aftermath of the iconic bloody scene of him just having had chopped off Medusa’s head and raising his sword to the heavens in defiance of the gods. From the accounts of Perseus life, I know he was a poor fisherman, having been raised by his mortal adoptive father Dictys, who rescued his mother and him after being cast to the oceans by Acrisius, King of Argos; his grandfather. He couldn’t kill Perseus outright for fear of Zeus’ vengeful wrath. You see, the king was told by the Oracle at Delphi...

Looks like Medusa is very popular, again, since the re-imagined release of Clash Of The Titans in 2010 and actress Uma Thurman playing Medusa in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Here’s a link I found showing the artists concept’s of many of the creatures created for Clash Of The Titans. I decided to get into the act and create my own Medusa out of a hodgepodge of Poser products, both free and bought, and not only that but contribute to one of the biggest myth surrounding Medusa’s mythical tale—that everyone thinks they know it, due to the fact that...

“Slammed to the grown, after being thrown clear across a clearing at some ruins by the evil Avatar creature. UltraMother, left alone in the battle, after the depletion of the rest of the Ultras, and almost depleted herself, has only one move left at this point. A punch to the upper body, around the lower chest area of the beast, so intense as to bend steel, followed by a swift, and equally powerful, kick to the face between the eyes….” About The Render Being a fan of Ultraman from way back in the day, decades back, I went in search for some Ultraman Poser figures. I found a...

“The princess thought seeing her love at a remote sanctuary up in the hills overlooking her father’s kingdom was safe… but…. someone has seen the princes in the company of a forbidden love.” Here is a fantastic free Poser figure modeled after Vincent from the 80s T.V. series Beauty & The Beast. In the series Vincent is a beast, with a good heart and a lion-like face who lives in a “utopian society” underneath the city of New York. The base model for this figure is the The Freak 4, but it is not necessary, he can be applied to the Michael V4 base...
